Citizenship

Hullo. Welcome.

Citizenship

There is Citizenship in the modern sense and Citizenship in the traditional sense. For example “Ndi Muganda Ddala” (i.e I am a true Muganda)

In law, (according to Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia), citizenship denotes a link between a person and a state. A person who does not have citizenship in any state is called stateless. The modern sense of citizenship is usually based on one or more of these factors:

Legal Factors of Citizenship

  1. Parents are citizens. If a person has one or both parents who are citizens of a given nation, then the person is generally presumed to be a citizen as well.
  2. Marriage to a citizen. Citizenship can also be obtained by marrying a citizen.
  3. Permanent residency within a country of which he or she is not a citizen.

Historically (here in Buganda) a person can respectively be called a true Muganda according to any of the following conditions:

Traditional Factors of Citizenship

  1. Muganda Kasangwaawo
  2. Muganda Kaswa
  3. Muganda Nama- ddala

Working Abroad for a Living

 Hullo. Welcome to my blog.

Developing Countries

In many developing countries, people choose to work in foreign countries rather than their home countries. Is working abroad for a living good or bad?

It is an advantage to work abroad, because the home country earns a good income from the foreign exchange of the remitted money.

It is a disadvantage, because most of the remitted money is embezzled by relatives whom you left behind. When you finally return home, they treat you an enemy rather than a relative. Also, your former workmates treat you as a rival and deny you promotion.

Political or tribal problems

My advice is that unless you are faced with political or tribal problems, you should not work abroad for a living. What do you suggest?
